Craig Wayne Boyd to entertain at school benefit concert
A country music concert hosted by the Bath County School District is set to take place Thursday Dec. 15, at the Bath County High School, 645 Chenault Drive in Owingsville.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the show will start at 6:30 p.m.
Advance tickets can be purchased for $20 with a payment of cash or check or a payment of $21 through PayPal.
Tickets can also be purchased at the door with cash only for $25.
Country music star Craig Wayne Boyd, who got his start on The Voice, will be this years guest entertainer with Matt Van Fossen and Bedford and Company as opening acts.
This will be the second year the school district has held the concert that benefits student field trips and other activities.
Bath County School Superintendent Harvey Tackett said last years benefit was very successful.
“We received so much positive feedback from the Raelynn concert last year that we plan to make this an annual event for the Bath County community. The concert is a benefit to raise money for the celebrations that the district sponsors for our students and staff,” Tackett said. “It becomes more difficult each year to fund the activities that we feel deserve to be celebrated. In past years elementary and middle school students get to “Walk the Red Carpet” for performing well on state assessments and high school students are awarded with a field trip. Students look forward to these activities and work hard to be rewarded. Funds from this benefit will help make these possible as well as other celebrations,” Tackett added.
To help cover the cost of hosting the concert the school district would like to obtain sponsors for the event so the money from ticket sales and concessions can benefit students and staff.
Sponsor tickets can be purchased through PayPal on the Bath County Schools website or by calling the Bath County Board of Education office at 606-674-6313 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or by contacting any board office employee.
Tickets can be mailed once checks have been received or you can pick them up at the door.
The last day tickets can be mailed is Dec. 2, 2016.
Sponsor options are as follows:
Platinum-$2,000 donation will receive 40 concert tickets, 6 Meet and Greet passes (if scheduled) and will have premium floor seating closest to the stage.
