Discover Flemingsburg presents 12th Annual Swing on Main
The 12th Annual Swing On Main took place at the Double S Entertainment Center last Saturday evening with a good sized crowd in attendance.
Several sponsors decorated tables in this years theme of “Your Favorite Era”.
The City of Flemingsburg chose the Roaring Twenties, The Hinton family displayed items to represent the Hinton Mills store from the 1920s, Future Business Leaders of America students went with the 1960s theme, Fleming County Public Library Directors chose the Depression Era and the editors of Around Town filled their table with journalism items down through the years.
Those in attendance voted for their favorite table and this years winner was The City of Flemingsburg with Hinton Mills running a close second.
The evening kicked off as the Fleming County Choir sang the National Anthem.
High school students, Kdee Whiteman, Cortland Mitchell and Brandi Vice entertained the crowd with several songs before the band took the stage.
Members of the Fleming County High School Bowling Team sold deep fried cod sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, chips and drinks during the event and members of the Fleming County High School Choir offered up a table laden with homemade treats.
Gifts baskets filled with goodies, floral arrangement and mums also filled a table for the silent auction.
The band, Fat Head Davis took the stage to rock the evening with some soulful Blues and Jazz.
