Classic cars shine at 360 Auto and Body cruise in

The cloudy skies and light rain cleared off to a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Owingsville, just in time for the first cruise in event held by 360 Auto and Body Repair.

360 Auto and Body Repair is located on Suddith Street at the corner of Water Street in Owingsville.

The cruise in featured 21 cars from Bath County and surrounding areas and was as much a social event as a car show.

Father and son, Mike and Travis Cassidy, operate the auto repair shop, which has a second location in North Middletown.

The Owingsville location opened April 7, 2016, and has been busy ever since. When the Cassidy’s named the business 360 Auto and Body Repair, they really mean a customer’s vehicle will receive 360 degrees of auto care needs.

“We can do body work, transmission repair, paint jobs and other basic car needs,” Travis said. “We can do just about anything but swapping motors and total transmission rebuilds.”

Travis, who has more than 10 years experience in auto repair and is a Marine Corps Veteran, said that he always likes to “pay it forward and give back to the community” with exemplary customer service and being reasonable. One way to provide that exemplary service is getting vehicles from work places for customers, at a reasonable distance.

“We will go to the schools or factories and get the vehicles so people don’t have to take time off from their jobs just to get a car repaired or an oil change, all at no charge,” Travis said. 360 Auto and Body Repair also offers 180 days free roadside assistance to their customers; a service that is sometimes ignored by others.

“The Cruise In event is just a way to get the community involved and bring life back into town,” Mike added. The shop in North Middletown has organized four cruise in events and this Saturday’s was the first of what they hope to be many for Owingsville.

Free hot dogs, fish sandwiches and drinks were provided and DJ Entertainment belted out songs from the 1950s through 1970s. A good crowd came out to enjoy the festivities and take a look at the cars that parked along Water Street and at the old Red Head parking lot.

“I’m tickled to death to see this many show up here today,” Mike Cassidy noted. Mike is a Bath County native and is originally from Preston. “I’d love to see this town alive again and the community get involved with events like this,” he added. People who attended the cruise in agreed and said this and similar recent events are a welcomed sight in Owingsville.

360 Auto and Body Repair is open Monday through Saturday; hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. They can be reached at 606-336-5006 and are also on Facebook.
