Fun with Fondant

Last Thursday Jackie Thacker taught a “Fun with Fondant” class at the Fleming County Public Library. Several students were eager to learn how to master basic shapes with fondant to decorate the homemade cupcakes they would take home that evening. In the above photo Jackie explains the different types of tools and cutters used for creating various shapes to Kim White, Randie Mitchell, and Bonnie Hunt. Bottom left-Margaret McGinnis practices using a small tool to carve the fondant into the shape of a leaf. Right-Chris Kelly rolls out a thin circle to create a rose petal.
