New cleaning service helps mop away the stress of a mess

Nikkie Withrow left and Claire May-Garland, owners of Two Girls and a Mop with a Guy and a Hammer offer services for residential and commercial General, Deep and Organizational cleaning.

Sometimes a busy, hectic life and work schedule can hinder us from maintaining a clean and organized home.

Day after day, week after week the chores keep piling up and we can become so overwhelmed we don’t even know where to start to get our homes back into some kind of clean and orderly fashion.

If you have come to the point that you need help with your cleaning and organization needs, don’t despair, a new cleaning service has arrived in the area and is ready to help.

Two Girls and a Mop with a Guy and a Hammer is new cleaning service owned and operated by Claire May-Garland, Nikkie Withrow and Tim Withrow.

“We actually started this business out of necessity,” Claire said. “When my friend Nikkie and I found ourselves out of full-time work a little over a month ago we got together to brain storm ideas to create some kind of employment. We decided that since we both knew how hard it was to maintain a clean home when we had full-time jobs there must be others out there who could use some help with their housework,” Claire said.

The team got their start when a friend of Claire’s hired them to clean a four-story house she had recently vacated.

“My friend just moved to a new house and needed someone to give her old one a thorough cleaning after she moved out. Nikkie and I cleaned that place from top to bottom including walls, ceilings, and baseboards. Our client gave us an amazing review from that first job. We thought to ourselves, hey we could start our own cleaning business and that is just what we did, “Claire said.

That first client was just the boost Claire and Nikkie needed to move forward with their new business.

“I give this upcoming new company the highest rating because they do the highest quality work. Not only is my home the cleanest it’s ever been, it smells amazing.

When I came home they explained they had gotten out a marker stain on my carpet. They had completely gotten the stain out, only it wasn’t a market stain, it was nail polish. They know every secret in the book to get your house not just clean, but “Two Girls and a Mop” clean. They set the bar for a new level of clean, and I highly recommend them,” Betty Coutant said.

Two Girls and a Mop also decided to include a handy-man to hang pictures or fix a cabinet door for example, hence the guy with the hammer.

The one thing Claire and Nikkie would like potential clients to know is, “We don’t just come in and run the vacuum and wipe your counters. For a basic housecleaning we sweep, mop, run the vacuum, dust, completely clean your kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedrooms. Nikkie’s specialty is organizing cabinets and counter space. So when we leave, you will definitely know we have been there,” Claire said.

The duo uses their own special blend of cleaning supplies that allows them to clean your home using the least amount of harsh chemicals.

“When we show up to clean your house, apartment or business we come prepared to get the job done. We carry our very own special blend of cleaning products that allow us to safely get out stains in your carpet or wood floors. We also have our own blend of room deodorizer that leaves a fresh clean scent and not a strong chemical odor,” Claire said.

Two Girls and a Mop with a Guy and a Hammer also do deep cleaning as well as cabinet, pantry, laundry room and closet organization upon request.

Claire said that she and Nikkie know how frustrating it can be to work full time, attend college classes and come home so exhausted that housework is the last thing on your mind and how quickly your home can become disorganized mess.

“Both of us have been working moms too exhausted to keep our homes clean so we know exactly how overwhelming it can be to come home to a complete mess. There just comes a time when all you can do is call for help, and we are here to help. When a client calls us to deep clean their home we clean all blinds, windows, window sills and lighting fixtures, as well as our usual ceilings, walls, floors and baseboards,” Claire explained. “We have cleaned homes where the client arrived home to realize he or she has cookware they didn’t even know they had. And we have had clients just break down and cry when they see their home all clean, tidy and organized,” Nikkie added.

Willow Riddlebarger is just one of several clients who decided to give the areas new cleaning service a call.

“Hiring these two amazing women for a Deep Clean of my apartment was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. They are thorough, efficient, and trustworthy. My place has never been cleaner. I’m looking forward to their monthly service and I highly recommend them!!! Merry Christmas to me,” Willow said in her review.

Mandy Harris was also extremely pleased the work from Two Girls and a Mop.

“I wish I could give this cleaning service a higher rating than the five stars allowed. They were amazing and went above and beyond my expectations. Words can’t describe how much in awe I am of my house,” Mandy said.

Both girls agree that a cleaning business is the perfect fit for them because of their love for turning a disorganized space into something nice and tidy and their genuine love for helping others.

“I think both our favorite parts of the business is seeing the look on our clients faces when they see their homes all neat and clean. Especially clients who tell us they get so overwhelmed they don’t know where to start. It’s those clients that leave a house that is so disorganized that they can’t even see their kitchen table and return home to discover they really did have a nice home under all the mess. It’s the look of pure joy on their face that is so rewarding to us,” Claire said.

This areas newest cleaning service, Two Girls and a Mop and a Guy with a Hammer would like to expand their business to include local small businesses, rental properties and churches..
